Essential Tips for Business Owners to Unplug Like a Pro!

Business Tips • June 14, 2024

Kids are out of school, summer is here, and it’s time to take a damn break! Here’s how to keep your business running from 30,000 feet! ✈️

CRM Automation

Use Dubsado or a similar CRM for calls, contracts, invoices, and more. Automations allow your business to run itself while you’re out in the sun! I can get paid, schedule calls with potential clients, and onboard new clients—all without leaving the hot tub! Psst. I recently worked with Devin Lee, Systems Strategist, to step up my Dubs game! The automations and workflows she set up are amazing…highly recommend!

Keep Showing Up on Social Media

I’m able to do this by preplanning and scheduling my content so that my accounts are still active even if my phone is back in the hotel room. Tools like ManyChat allow you to continue engaging with your audience. Using chat marketing tools like ManyChat allows you to send people specific links maybe to your freebie or a product that you’re promoting. It’s like you’re really there when you’re actually playing volleyball in the pool! 🤽🏽‍♀️

Outsourcing

Hire a Social Media Manager and/or Virtual Assistant to hold down the fort while you’re away. There is no better feeling than knowing your business is not burning to the ground while you’re sipping a 🍹Tequila Sunrise!

Out of Office

I turn on my “Out Of Office” email message, instructing current clients to contact my Executive Virtual Assistant if something needs to be done urgently and directing new clients to my scheduler. That way, we can hop on a call as soon as I get back–they don’t have to wait for me to return their email for a week.

Communicating with Clients

Informing clients about your upcoming vacation is crucial! Let them know that you will be unavailable, the time period, and what to do if they have an urgent need. This also helps prepare clients who like to send you items last minute to get work over to you sooner rather than later. 🫣Plus, you need to be able to focus on packing🧳 for your trip, not doing last-minute work.
Ohhh, most importantly….set rules for YOURSELF!

As CEOs, we know our business is our baby, and we want to make sure it is taken care of. Therefore, we still touch our business a tiny bit even when on vacation (I am guilty of it, friend!), so set rules for when you will look at things (if at all). Maybe just allot 30 minutes to an hour a day. THAT’S IT!

Always remember, my friends, burnout🔥 is a Mother*! Make sure you take time for yourself.
